Coconut oil will keep your mouth bacteria-free and it will make your teeth whiter!

Coconut oil is one of the healthiest and most versatile oils in existence. It is extremely beneficial and it is perfect for our dental health.

There are many doctors and specialists that think that deadly diseases like strokes, respiratory issues, dementia and heart diseases are caused because of oral infections. In order to keep our mouth clean, we use commercial products, but they are full of harmful chemicals and irritants.

Many of these products are packed with aspartame, triclosan, fluoride and sodium lauryl sulfate, and all of these ingredients are dangerous for our overall health.

The sodium lauryl sulfate can damage our taste buds and the triclosan can impede the function of our endocrine glands.

Coconut oil, on the other hand, contains tons of antibacterial properties, and it possesses the ability to remove bacteria quite easily. It can be used by both adults and children, in order to treat tooth decay, which is caused by streptococcus and “S mutants”.

Dr. Damien Brady is the lead researcher of the Athlone Institute of Technology, and he says that coconut oil is extremely effective when it comes to removing the damage that has been caused by the harmful chemicals.

How to prepare a toothpaste from coconut oil at home?

  • Two to three tablespoons of baking soda
  • Half a cup of coconut oil
  • 15 to 30 drops of peppermint, thieves or peppermint essential oil

How to prepare it:

You need to put all the ingredients together in some container and mix them well. When you are finished with the mixing, you can use the mixture that you end up with, as a toothpaste.

If you want to keep your mouth clean, you can also try oil pulling. You need to take one tablespoon of coconut oil and then swish it in your mouth for around 20 minutes and then spit it out. Then, use clean water to clean your teeth, or you can also brush them with the homemade coconut toothpaste.

This technique, in a combination with the homemade toothpaste, will make your teeth whiter and your oral cavity will remain bacteria-free all the time.
