The difference between margarine and butter, and the truth that we are not being told!

The products that contain butter are usually marked to be unhealthy in the supermarkets, and the ones that contain margarine are considered to be healthier.

But, that is not entirely true. There is no way to tell the difference between some types of margarine and butter because they are extremely similar. Margarine is scientifically created, and it contains trans-fats. These types of fats are very dangerous for the human health. Margarine is a much cheaper alternative to butter and it started being massively produced in 1903.

After the start of mass production, it was discovered that if hydrogen is added into the vegetable oil, it can create a product that is more solid and more spreadable.

Also, the people that were responsible for the production of margarine back in the past, were not aware that trans-fats can cause serious problems on our overall health. According to the experts of today, trans-fats act differently when they enter the body with saturated and unsaturated fats. They claim that the human body needs them so that it can function properly.

Fats like omega 6 and omega 3 are very important for the function of the brain. Also, some other important things are fat-soluble vitamins like vitamins A, D and E, because they have the ability to transport all the fat throughout our body.

Trans-fats also have a different molecular structure and another function. According to a study that was conducted in 2008, the energy that is taken from trans-fats can increase the risk of coronary artery disease by a whopping 23 percent.

In the 1950s, butter was considered to be not so healthy, because according to some studies, it was discovered that it contained high levels of cholesterol, which can be found in animal fat, which connected butter to heart problems. But, a few years later, those studies turned out to be wrong.

Today, we are all aware of the fact that fat which can be found in sugars and bread, which is also known as carbohydrates, is the one to blame for the development of some cardiovascular problems.

The bottom line is that both butter and margarine are not as healthy as you think, and you should avoid eating them. That way, you will save yourself from a lot of trouble.
